- Multi-purpose “convertible” setups – Don't buy a standard EcoTank and plan to convert it to DTF or UV. You'll save money on paper but waste time on headaches. Get a dedicated DTF printer (like the SureColor F2270) or UV printer from a specialized brand.
- Ultra-high-speed production – For 100+ pages per minute, look at production inkjet or toner-based systems. Epson's business inkjets are 20-30 ppm, not competing with light production.
- Extreme environments – Dusty factories, constant on/off cycles, or high humidity – Epson consumer printers aren't built for that. Consider industrial grade (like those from Roland or Mimaki) if your use case is harsh.
Look, I'm not saying Epson is the best for every job. No printer is. But if you match the machine to the actual task, you'll save money and sanity. The question isn't "Is Epson good?" – it's "Is the right Epson model for my situation?".
